EVERY PROJECT IS UNIQUE. LET'S FIND YOUR STORY TOGETHER.

JAZZ PROMOTION

PROMOTION.

Let my proven track record in online and offline PR work for you! Through personalized campaigns tailored to your genre and needs we’ll make your release, tour, or event into the success it deserves to be.

I’ve had my clients speak at events such as Tallinn Music Week, Jazzahead!, and North Sea Jazz, and their work has appeared in national magazines and radio shows in The Netherlands, Sweden, Germany, Austria, Spain, and many other countries in Europe and Asia.

My work centers around jazz, experimental music, soul, and, sometimes, pop. My campaigns focus on European territories, although I’ve achieved some success in Oceania and Asia as well. I believe in a close and personal connection, so however much I love my American peers, other publicists are better suited for a US-centric campaign. But if you’re looking to conquer Europe: I’m your (jazz) girl.

STRATEGY.

Rome wasn’t built in a day – and not just because we weren’t on that job. Having a plan is crucial to be able to determine your success in advance: having enough time to promote your cause can make all the difference between making headlines and hearing crickets. Fortunately, I have some experience in getting creative with strategic goals.. And I love it when a plan comes together.

SPEAKING.

I’ve had the joy of traveling Europe as a speaker, moderator, jury member, and guest lecturer for over half a decade now. Highlights include PIN Conference, FiraB!, Tallinn Music Week, and Transition Festival’s Women in Jazz Event.

While most of my talks are about PR for artists and many of them were based on my first book How To Build Relationships In The Music Industry, I’ve also had the pleasure of discussing my idealism in terms of gender equality and the lack of Balkan musician’s representation in the Western world on the one hand, and my passion for marketing on the other when talking about audience enhancement and growth.

ABOUT.

Hi! I’m Arlette, a freelance jazz promoter and media director from The Netherlands.

Originally, I produced and programmed events in The Hague, where I lived most of my life. I’ve also toured with bands such as The Four Tops and The Temptations. In 2015, I decided to spend more time in The Netherlands than on the road and shifted my focus back to PR and marketing. Since then, I’ve worked with clients in The Netherlands, Belgium, France, Poland and Russia.

When I have time, I enjoy having beers with unsuspecting jazz musicians and check out shows at my favorite local jazz bar, Dizzy in Rotterdam.

Some Humble pie; I was honored to win a Netherlands Music Industry Award in January 2020, awarded at Eurosonic Noorderslag. In 2021 I joined the 7 Virtual Jazz Club competition as a juror.  I was a jazz juror for the first time in 2019, at Jazz Across Borders in Saint-Petersburg, Russia, and enjoyed it very much. I’ve also had the pleasure of being invited as a speaker at the Why DIY Music Podcast and by Gail Boyd at Alternative Venues for Jazz.
