Having grown up in The Hague, I was overjoyed to be able to contribute to the city’s biggest jazz festival of the year – and arguably the first international lineup of 2021, sporting names such as McBride x Moran, WeJazz reps Timo Lassy and Y Otis, Kokoroko, Yussef Dayes and many, many more. It was the only jazz festival with no social distancing in 2021, squeezed neatly in between two lockdowns.. there was a lot to be grateful for.

Reviews and mentions in national newspapers NRC and De Volkskrant, blogs like Maxazine, and, a first for me, De Slagwerkkrant made MJazz an incredible experience. But there was more; I joined forces with my friend Luc Parhan, a fantastic animator, musician and voice-over artist, to create bumpers for the festival’s promotional materials. It was a lot of fun and, as it turns out, my last gig in The Netherlands before migrating to Poland. I can’t think of a better exit!
